Linux/Unix

These instruction pre-suppose that you are using or can run Konqueror (the do all file, web, and everything else viewer from KDE.)

Via the web page that lists the folder that you want to access (select one of the links from the left hand side of this page, students, programs, etc..). Copy the link to the folder you wish to access (right click, copy link).

Paste that link into the URL bar and replace the ‘https’ with ‘webdavs’ and hit enter. It should now ask you to enter your Evergreen login name and password.

Once your are authenticated this windows will let out copy and paste files in and out of it. You can also directly open files and save them when done. We generally do not recommend doing incase there is a loss of network connectivity while you are work.

Ubuntu

Gnome based Linux remote access instructions (tested in Ubuntu 7.04 Feisty Fawn)

Choose connect to server in the Places tab of the desktop, or the file tab of a Nautilus File Browser window.

Paste the address of the folder you wish to access into the “server” box without the “https://”.

Select Connect, and it will mount the folder.

If all else fails, your files are accessible through the internet by following the instructions here for Programs or here for personal files. Enter your login with ’@evergreen.edu’ and your password normally. However, you will not be able to save back to the original file, SO PLEASE SAVE IT TO YOUR HOME COMPUTER!
