Windows2000
If your connecting via Windows 2000, you can set up your Windows Explorer program to see your files on Masu as if they exist on your own computer. You will need a high speed internet connection to make this work well such as a T1 cable modem, or DSL.
Start by double clicking on My Computer from your desktop

From here, go to the Tools>Map Network Drive pull down option, which should look like this;

Notice that on the bottom of this window there is a hyperlink for Creating a shortcut to a Web folder or FTP site. Click on this hyperlink. This will take you through a wizard for establishing a link to a web site that should look like this;

So now we need to know the actual address of the folder on Masu so we can effectively connect to this location. There is a logical schema to this and it follows this convention.
https://calfiles.evergreen.edu/programs/ - Academic program Shares
https://calfiles.evergreen.edu/programs/students07 - Personal folders
https://calfiles.evergreen.edu/projects/ - ongoing project space https://calfiles.evergreen.edu/groups/ - various group folders
The first part will always be https://calfiles.evergreen.edu/ followed by the specific directory you want to connect to.
Academic Fileshares on Masu: If you're a student or faculty connecting to a program share such as PRG_Calculus (as the folder would appear if you were in the CAL), then the address would be https://calfiles.evergreen.edu/programs/PRG_CALCULUS/
Personal Fileshare on Masu: If you are faculty or staff with a fileshare on masu and your name happens to be Einstein, you can connect to your personal file share by entering https://calfiles.evergreen.edu/people/einstein.
Project Fileshare on Masu: If you are student, faculty or staff with a research project fileshare on masu called genome, you can connect to your personal file share by entering https://calfiles.evergreen.edu/projects/genome.
Once you enter the correct address, you should be prompted enter a user name and password. Use your normal evergreen login name and password. Click ok, then click finish to close out of the wizard. You will be prompted once more for a name and password as windows opens a new window for this share. Congratulations, you should now be connected to your fileshare on MASU!
