Windows98
If your connecting via Windows 98, you can set up your Windows Explorer program to see your files on Masu as if they exist on your own computer. You will need a high speed internet connection to make this usable such as a T1, cable modem, or DSL. The Windows98 operating system contains native support for WebDAV (the connection protocol for the calfiles site); Microsoft refers to WebDAV connections as “Web Folders.” Please use the instructions that follow to add a Web Folder for your calfiles directory. Once created, you will need to enter your Evergreen username and password to access this folder whenever you restart Windows.
1. Open your ‘My Computer’ folder and then double-click on Web Folders, then at the next window click on “Add Web Folder”
2. The next step requires you to enter a complete URL for your calfiles site. Locate the appropriate URL and type it in the “location to add” box on the “Add Web Folder” screen and then click on the Next button. The discussion below will help you figure this out if you do not already know or can’t find the URL.

How do I find the URL? (besides copying and pasting from a web browser which works the best!) There is a logical schema to this and it follows this convention;
Program folders – https://calfiles.evergreen.edu/programs/INS (make sure to enter the exact name of your program!).
Student folders – https://calfiles.evergreen.edu/programs/students07/j/joejoh01 (Make sure to enter the exact name of your personal folder).
Research folders – https://calfiles.evergreen.edu/research/canopy (Make sure to enter the exact name of the research space you are accessing)
3. Once you enter the correct address, you should be prompted enter a user name and password. Use your normal evergreen login name and password. Click ok, then click finish to close out of the wizard. You will be prompted once more for a name and password as windows opens a new window for this share. Congratulations, you should now be connected to your fileshare on MASU!
4. Type your Evergreen username and password you use for logging in and click on OK to continue.
Note: Be very careful about deciding whether to check the “Save password” box. If this box is checked and others have access to your computer, they also will have access to your course files.

5. Now if you double-click on my computer, you should see this share show up under My Network Places, and you can use it just like this was on your own machine (except it might be a bit slower).

Good luck and give us a call at 867-6426 if you have any problems
If all else fails, your files are accessible through the internet by following the instructions here for Programs or here for personal files. Enter your login with ’@evergreen.edu’ and your password normally. However, you will not be able to save back to the original file, SO PLEASE SAVE IT TO YOUR HOME COMPUTER!
